A leading company in the bamboo pulp sheet production industry in Ghana is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Factory Manager to oversee daily operations at its manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in paper-making processes or chemical engineering, coupled with excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead and manage all daily operations of the paper manufacturing plant.

Plan and coordinate production activities to ensure optimal efficiency and adherence to quality standards.

Supervise and mentor plant staff, promoting a safe, positive, and productive work environment.

Monitor and maintain all machinery and equipment to ensure minimal downtime and high operational performance.

Enforce compliance with health, safety, environmental, and industry regulations.

Prepare and manage production budgets, control costs, and optimize the use of resources.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives and implement innovative solutions to enhance productivity and product quality.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Paper Science, or Chemical Engineering.

Demonstrated experience in a leadership role within the paper-making or related industry.

Deep understanding of paper production processes, machinery, and raw materials.

Strong skills in production planning, quality control, and safety procedures.

Excellent communication, team management, and problem-solving abilities.

Willing to relocate and settle in Ghana

JOB OVERVIEW

A leading construction materials company is seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Production Manager to lead the operations of its concrete products manufacturing plant. This critical role will oversee all aspects of production—ensuring safety, efficiency, and quality while meeting production targets and customer expectations.

The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, technical expertise in concrete manufacturing, and a deep understanding of quality assurance, resource management, and lean production practices. The Production Manager will play a key role in optimizing processes, managing teams, and aligning production with strategic business goals.

Key Responsibilities 1. Production Planning & Scheduling

Develop and implement daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules to meet demand.

Coordinate closely with procurement and logistics teams to ensure availability of raw materials and resources.

2. Quality Assurance & Control

Enforce strict quality control standards in line with ASTM, ACI, and local regulatory requirements.

Monitor production output to ensure consistency, durability, and compliance with specifications.

3. Process Optimization

Continuously assess and improve production processes to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs.

Apply lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement strategies across the plant.

4. Safety & Compliance

Ensure strict adherence to OSHA and all relevant health and safety regulations.

Lead safety initiatives, conduct regular safety drills, and instill a safety-first culture on the shop floor.

5. Team Leadership & Staff Development

Lead, coach, and manage a team of supervisors, machine operators, and support staff.

Conduct performance evaluations, identify training needs, and support career development initiatives.

6. Inventory & Equipment Management

Oversee inventory of raw materials, finished goods, and spare parts to avoid disruptions.

Plan and supervise maintenance of equipment to reduce downtime and prolong machine life.

7. Budgeting & Reporting

Manage production budgets and align spending with financial goals.

Track key production metrics and generate operational reports for management with recommendations for improvement.

8. Customer-Focused Production

Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to meet specific customer requirements and resolve production-related issues.

Ensure timely delivery of high-quality products that meet or exceed customer expectations.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical/Civil Engineering, Industrial Management, or a related field.

Minimum 5 years of experience in production management, preferably within the concrete or construction materials industry.

In-depth knowledge of concrete production techniques and quality standards.

Demonstrated ability to manage production teams and achieve operational goals.

Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies is a plus.

Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and production planning software.

Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.

Proven commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.

Working Conditions

This role is based in a plant environment and may involve exposure to dust, noise, and temperature fluctuations.

Regular movement around the plant and extended periods of standing or walking may be required.
