Job Description
DUTIES /RESPONSIBILITIES
• Conduct site surveys to establish reference points, elevations, and benchmarks within the plant.
• Provide accurate alignment and layout for heavy machinery, piping, foundations, and structural components.
• Operate surveying instruments such as GPS, total stations, and laser levels to capture and record data.
• Verify plant layout drawings and prepare as-built documentation for new installations and modifications.
• Support engineering and project teams by providing measurements and technical input for construction and maintenance projects.
• Monitor and report on settlement, deformation, or misalignment of plant structures and equipment.
• Maintain accurate survey records, logs, and reports for project documentation and compliance.
• Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards in all surveying activities.
• Assist in troubleshooting layout discrepancies and recommend corrective solutions.
• Prepare detailed survey reports, maps, and layouts to support engineering, construction, and plant expansion projects.
• Conduct precise land, structural, and dimensional surveys within the industrial plant environment.
• Maintain survey equipment, ensuring proper calibration and safe handling.
• Provide technical input during site inspections, audits, and compliance reviews.
• Ensure all surveying activities align with industry standards, safety regulations, and company procedures.
• Support project planning by providing accurate data for feasibility studies and design modifications.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
• A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Geomatics, Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 15 years’ proven experience as a surveyor, with strong exposure to industrial plant or manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of CAD software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and GIS tools.
REQUIREMENTS
• Proficiency in modern surveying equipment (GPS, total stations, laser scanners, theodolites).
• Advance knowledge of AutoCAD, GIS software, and other relevant surveying applications.
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate across multidisciplinary plant operations.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety, regulatory standards, and compliance practices.
• Ability to perform under pressure in demanding plant environments.
• Must have high level of technical precision, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Must have problem-solving and decision-making.
• Must have In-depth knowledge of plant safety standards, ISO, OSHA, and environmental compliance requirements.
• Proven ability to supervise and mentor junior surveyors as well as oversee external contractors
• Must be familiar with plant layout designs, structural steel alignment, pipeline routing, and foundation setting-out.
