Shipping Manager
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced shipping Shipping Manager to work for a leading international shipping and logistics business in Ghana.
As the Shipping Manager, you will be responsible for leading the shipping business unit in Ghana. Responsibilities will include:
Oversee in-country container shipping activities
- Strategic / Policy implementation
- Overall operational performance of the shipping business unit
- Driving business development, sales, and marketing activities
- Maintaining key client relationships
- Budget and financial management of the business unit
- Stakeholder relationship management (customs, port authorities, regulatory agencies, shipping lines, clients, and overseas partners)
- Management of QHSE activities
- Operational and performance related reporting
- Team management, employee performance, and coaching and developing the workforce
Personal requirements:
- In depth knowledge of the shipping industry
- Strong understanding of port operations
- Previous experience working in Africa is advantageous
- Experience in operational and commercial shipping activities is preferred
- Excellent communication skills
