PROGRAMME OFFICER
JOB DESCRIPTION

Our client is a non-governmental organization that
provides assistance in legal, governance, policy education or advocacy
and resource management.
Scope
The Program me Officer will
manage and handle all planning, implementation and reporting aspects
of project activities, monitor and evaluate projects and support
programme and proposal development.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute project activities in a
timely and accurate manner.
- Monitor progress and
all aspects of project implementation, present a good analysis of the
status of the project and troubleshoot project challenges effectively.
- Create alternative approaches in dealing with project
implementation challenges and identify best practices to improve the
overall project performance.
- Assist in project
budget preparation and expense management activities.
- Identify and engage new program/project partners for
expansion.
- Participate in and conduct project
reviews and prepare reports for the management team.
- Prepare meeting agenda, organize and facilitate meetings or
workshops and prepare reports or minutes.
- Represent
the organization’s brand in conferences, meetings, and workshops.
- Manage and monitor grants and prepare accurate
funding reports.
- Establish relationships with key
project partners and stakeholders both at the local, national and
international levels.
- Analyse, manage, and conduct
research on potential and existing donor information in the database
and prepare substantive briefs on possible areas of cooperation.
- Identify opportunities for the initiation of new
projects and active contribution to the overall effort in resource
mobilisation.
- Assesses project performance to
identify success factors and incorporates best practices into project
work.
- Research on linkages across programme
activities and identify critical points of integration
Requirements
Requirements
- A
Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Geography and Rural
Development Studies or any related field of study.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role or its
equivalent.
- Experience in project management.
- Experience in budget and project planning.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal and presentation
skills.
- Good communication and leadership skills.
- Working knowledge in MS Office Suite.
