Commercial Steering Manager
About the job
Hapag-Lloyd Ghana is recruiting a
Commercial Steering Manager who will be responsible for: heading Area
steering efforts to maximize the vessels’ utilization while optimizing
both volume and contribution levels, providing pricing policy and
guidelines to assist in achieving the goals of the company,
consciously establishing a culture that encourages customer focus,
individual development, efficiency, collaboration, and creates an
environment for process improvements.
Your
responsibility
Responsible for coordinating and
managing all commercial steering matters related to Area MAW.
Pursue the goals set by Management with a special focus on
optimizing the volume generated by the Area and maximize both revenues
& contribution levels. Revenue Management, concept
introduction & development. Guide, coach, and instruct Area
Steering forces for Sales, Slot Control and Revenue Management.
Define for the team: vessels’ utilization / contribution /
revenue targets. Responsible for WVF, budget and its
revisions Attending APM calls, BSC meetings, MPC meeting,
Equipment meeting, any other that is necessary / required.
Monitor customer performance and highlights findings to Sales to
improve business where needed. Analyse competition and
markets statistical data Represent Area within committees,
pursuing efficiencies, cost savings. Liaise whenever
required with the managements of other areas, TMs and Region.
Safeguard effective equipment marketing by steering containers to
equipment demand areas and depleting surplus areas. Develop
competitive rate and PG in consultation with Trade Management within
the guidelines of the Company. Monitor Area bookings versus
allocation, targets and budget. Execute special projects as
assigned by Area Management. Participate in various
Hapag-Lloyd working groups, business processes, and any areas as
requested by Senior management. Assist local management in
selection/hiring of staff Your profile
8-10 years' experience in a shipping company or an adjacent industry.
Experience working in trade management in a
shipping/logistics company is an added advantage Proven
leadership experience having successfully managed large teams.
Exceptional ability to inspire and motivate people.
Capability to fluently speak, read and write in English - any other
additional languages is a plus. High customer and results
orientation coupled with outstanding communication skills.
Experience in negotiating and delivering results. Strong
analytics and good organizational skills. We Offer
